Art has always been my thing. All I ever needed to keep me occupied as a child was paper and something to draw with. Several issues that inform my art-making practice include Fordism and Americanization, manifest destiny, fast fashion, and exploitation of the natural world. Since the pandemic started, I have also begun the candid observation and depiction of mundane tasks, such as brushing one’s teeth or washing the dishes, exploring the beauty and potential for deep thought within those quiet moments. I create the things I do because they feel like a reflection of me and I address the subject matter in my artwork in a manner that echoes the way I communicate using language; substantive, detailed, and honest.
