This piece is about the commercialization and monetization of nature, specifically the west. It’s about their need to conquer nature and the native people, with the facade of spreading Christianity. Ultimately though, it’s about capitalism. The only remnant of the native people in this scene is the appropriated name “Apacheland” written on a barn, absurdly adorned with a Christmas wreath.
